Kidsafe QLD offers six month hire of baby capsules or short term hire of a range of child car restraints including convertible rear and forward facing seats (birth to 4 years), forward facing seats (up to 8 years) and booster seats (4-10 years).
Hire fees include installation by qualified Type One Fitters who will demonstrate how to adjust and use the seat safely.
Why hire a baby capsule for 6 months?
With so many child car seats and baby capsules available, it’s good to give yourself some breathing space before you commit to a seat long term.
Hiring is also a great solution if you are juggling multiple child car restraints in the same vehicle and waiting for toddlers to move the their next seat.Â

Short term hire of child car seats in BrisbaneÂ
If you have visitors from interstate or need to transport extra children for a short term, then hiring a child car restraint is a great option.
By law in Australia, all children up to seven years of age must be transported in a child car seat (restraint) that meets Australian Standard AS/NZS 1754. From 7 years old, children can legally sit on an adult seat and use the adult seat belt. However, as any school yard will demonstrate, every child grows at a different rate and although the law uses age to determine how a child should be transported, the size of the child is what matters.
Kidsafe Queensland’s qualified Type One Fitters are able to advise you on the safest seating option that meets your hire needs.
One week hire of rear or forward facing child car restraint (birth to 4 years)
Minimum one week hire of Britax Graphene (or similar), a small compact convertible seat that suits small cars and situations where you have multiple seats in the same vehicle.
This style of seat works for children from birth to 4 years. Please note, young children will need to meet height markers before we can install it forward facing.
One week hire $80 + $60 refundable deposit = $140
+$50 per week for subsequent weeks
All seats are fitted by our expert, qualified Type One Fitters. We also provide a demonstration of how to use the seat safely.
One week hire of forward facing child car restraint (up to 8 years)
Minimum one week hire of Britax Maxi Guard (or similar) which is suitable for children from 6 months to 8 years.
Please note, this seat is unsuitable for infants if they don’t meet correct height markers to be forward facing. Please choose the Britax Graphene seat to ensure a safer fit.
One week hire $80+ $60 refundable deposit = $140
+$50 per week for subsequent weeks

One week hire of booster seat (4 – approx 10 years)
Minimum one week hire of Britax Hi-Liner (or similar) which is suitable for children from 4 – approximately 10 years.
One week hire $80+ $60 refundable deposit = $140
+$50 per week for subsequent weeks
All seats are fitted by our expert, qualified Type One Fitters. We also provide a demonstration of how to use the seat safely.
SPECIALTY ITEMS & HIRE SERVICES
Kidsafe can supply modified and compliant Australian Standard Car Seats for children with disabilities and medical conditions as well as specialty postural and behavioural harnesses. Kidsafe is a registered provider of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Child car restraints hire for children with fractures or hip spica casts
$80 Consultation/Call out fee
$170 for 6 week hire (Includes car seat + extended crutch buckle + high density foam wedge).
Plus an additional refundable security deposit of $60 (refunded on return of all items in good condition)
Products can be couriered at the cost of the client.
